China places a strong emphasis on education, including problem-solving skills, for children from a young age. The Chinese education system focuses on rote memorization and repetition, which can sometimes limit children's creativity and ability to think outside the box. However, there has been a recent shift towards encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills in Chinese schools.

One example of this is the Shanghai Math Curriculum, which is being implemented in many Chinese schools. This curriculum focuses on teaching problem-solving skills through real-world examples and encourages children to think creatively to find solutions. In addition, there are various extra-curricular programs, such as math and robotics competitions, that encourage children to use problem-solving skills.

Overall, while there have been criticisms of the Chinese education system's focus on rote learning, efforts are being made to encourage problem-solving skills in children.
